Recombination
variation operator, which merges the genetic information of two or more
parent individuals producing one or more descendants, the so-called
recombinants.
In canonical
GAs,
normally two recombinants are produced by
crossover
using two parents. In
ES,
intermediate and
discrete
recombination are used (creating always one recombinant).
