That means we have ''25 minutes'' per paper, so please prepare your presentation for ''15-20 minutes'' leaving the remaining 5-10 minutes for discussion.

If you are preparing a poster as well:
* The posters will be presented together with the LBA posters.
* The poster session will be held on Friday, July 22, 18:30-20:00, Atrium.
* Poster set-up is 30 minutes prior to the start of the session.
* Poster boards and thumbtacks or tape will be available.
* Posters should be no more than 90cm (36 inches) wide and 188cm (74 inches) high.

! General Information
The student workshop at GECCO 2016 aims to encourage graduate and undergraduate students to submit and present their research on genetic and evolutionary computation at GECCO (Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference) 2016 in Denver, Colorado, USA. This full day workshop assists students with their work and facilitates their inclusion in the research community.

At the workshop, students receive valuable feedback on the quality of their work and their presentation style. This is assured by constructive discussions after each talk led by a mentor panel of established researchers. Students are encouraged to use this opportunity for guidance on future research directions.

In addition, we provide opportunities to:
* present the work to the whole conference audience at the poster session,
* receive a best paper award, and,
* continue the discussion at a get together after the workshop.

We hope that the variety of covered topics (all topics at GECCO) will catch the attention of a wide range of GECCO attendees, who will learn about fresh research ideas and meet young researchers with related interests. Even when not submitting or presenting, students are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn of and from the work of their colleagues and broaden their (scientific) horizons.

Following the tradition of GECCO Student Workshops and the experience from recent years, we will ensure interactivity through:
* ''In-depth discussions'' <br> Each accepted paper will be presented at the workshop where about half of the available time will be reserved for discussion lead by a mentor panel of established researchers. The members of the mentor panel will receive all the papers in advance in order to better prepare for the discussions. 
* ''Participation at the poster session'' <br> In addition to presenting their work at the workshop, all authors of accepted papers will be given the opportunity to participate at the conference’s poster session.

Please submit your current research related to genetic and evolutionary computation (of which at least a part should be previously unpublished) by email to
