In the first part of the session, each of the submitted problems as well as our examples will be presented in the following manner in order to provide information for further discussion:
presentation of benchmarking functions by authors (demo of different solutions in-game, e.g. with a video)
presentation of results of ELA and algorithm performances on the problem by organisers
discussion: What features of the fitness landscape are prominent? Which algorithms might have a better / worse performance?
Part 2: Discussion
After summarising the information that was provided in the first part, we will guide discussions in the second part around the following questions:
What other problems are needed? (according to GECCO researchers)
What other problems might be suitable? (according to CIG researchers)
The goal is to agree on future work that can improve and extend the basic benchmark that was compiled from the submissions in terms of diversity, coverage, comprehensibility and practicability.
